Hawaii
Culture, History, and Science await you in Hawaii. Start your journey by spending time with Hawaii’s Kupuna (elders) as they share their language, history, crafts and Aloha with you. Immerse yourself in the science of tsunamis, volcanoes, astronomy and shoreline ecosystems. See dramatic footage of active volcanoes, see lava tubes, hike along Devastation Trail. For Marine Science, enjoy snorkelling and gather a sea-lab collection including urchins, brittle stars and sea cucumbers. Experience outrigger canoeing. Explore the Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaii located in the University of Hawai`i’s Science and Technology Park.
Explore Hawaii’s native forests which are among the world’s biological treasures, sheltering more than 10,000 plants and animals found nowhere else in the world.
Round out your program with a visit to a macadamia nut factory, and Hilo Farmer’s Market for local food samplings, fruit, vegetables and flowers, learn the art of Hula, and of course spend some fun and relaxation time at one of Hawaii’s most pristine white sand beaches!
